How do I use the pip method to cook sliced carrots and potatoes in the PIP unit that i bought from amazon. I put the potatoes in the bottom section and the carrots in the top section with the lid and clamped it together. I put the unit in the inner poy on a tritit with water and preasure cooked it for 5 minutes. They came out uncooked with a skin . Where did I go wrong?
Sorry to hear that your food didn’t turn out well in the pip. I use this recipe for potatoes and carrots https://apressurecookerkitchen.com/instant-pot-potatoes-carrots/. When they are cut to this size, they should only take 3 minutes to cook on high pressure in the instant pot. Maybe the pip is too tightly enclosed for the steam to cook it. Not sure why it turned out with a skin on it. I would try using a steamer basket instead.
