You can make a batch of this Instant Pot Peach Iced Tea in just 15 minutes and it won’t heat up your kitchen like it does on the stovetop or have to sit outside for hours in the sun.
In the heat of summer, a glass of chilled peach iced tea is the perfect beverage to cool you down. I make a pitcher of this tea at least once a week, so it’s always in the refrigerator when I want something iced.
Why You’ll Love It
- There are many tea companies making peach flavored iced tea these days, but none of them compares to this fresh-made version that uses actual fruit. The flavor is unmatchable when you use real fruit. If you’ve got a surplus of blackberries, you should also try this Instant Pot Blackberry Iced Tea.
- You have the freedom to adjust the flavor and sweetness, and you can customize the strength of the tea to suit your preferences.
- Making this peach iced tea is a breeze, thanks to the simplicity of the Instant Pot. You just toss in the tea bags, fresh peaches, water, and set the timer.
Janet says: The second time I made this I peeled the peaches and I liked it that way so much more than with the skins on. It really does make a difference how ripe the peaches are too.
Debra says: Delish…the peaches really made it tasty without having to add any sweetener.
What Tea to Use
I prefer to use high-quality black loose leaf tea for this recipe. I like the Republic of Tea’s black Darjeeling tea, because it has the best flavor and it’s organic. However, there are many options.
You can use plain old Lipton black tea bags, just remember to remove the yellow tag from the bags. I’ve used other brands of tea bag, like PG Tips, but they impart a filmy substance in the tea that’s not particularly pleasant.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- Water
- Black tea bags
- Peaches
- Honey
- Garnish – Fresh peaches, mint sprigs, and lemon slices optional
Equipment Needed
- Instant Pot – I use a 6-quart Instant Pot Duo Plus to make all of my recipes, but you can use any size or brand of electric pressure cooker. If you’re using an 8-quart pot, you will need to adjust the amount of liquid accordingly, as it requires more water to build steam.
- Fine mesh strainer
- Pitcher
How to Make Instant Pot Iced Tea
Step 1: Add Ingredients
Add half the water, tea bags, and peaches to Instant Pot.
Step 2: Pressure Cook
Close and lock the lid. Switch the vent to sealing and set the timer to 5 minutes.
When finished, allow pressure to release naturally for 10-15 minutes, then do a quick release.
Step 3: Strain, Sweeten, & Enjoy
Open the lid and remove the tea bags. Carefully strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-resistant pitcher.
Add the remaining cold water. Sweeten with honey, to taste. Cool completely before serving over ice with peach slices and sprigs of fresh mint, if desired. Enjoy.
Should I Skin the Peaches?
Another decision you’ll need to make is whether or not to skin the peaches. I personally prefer to skin the peaches, but this is a personal preference. There is no visible difference in the tea if you skin the peaches or not.
If you buy organic peaches, there’s really no need to skin them. I do it because the peaches are often quite fuzzy and I want to make sure the tea is as pure as it can be.
Variations
Try adding extra additions to this peach tea, to give it a twist, like ginger or mint. You can add these extras right to the Instant Pot and the flavor will infuse into the tea.
Great flavor additions to black or green iced tea are:
- Nectarines
- Passion Fruit
- Raspberries
- Strawberries
- Mint
- Vanilla
- Ginger Peach
Questions About the Recipe
Can I use frozen peaches for Instant Pot peach iced tea, or is fresh fruit necessary?
While fresh peaches provide the best flavor, you can absolutely use frozen peaches as a convenient alternative. Frozen peaches can work well, especially when fresh ones are not in season, allowing you to enjoy the peachy goodness year-round.
Is it necessary to sweeten the peach iced tea?
Sweetening the peach iced tea is optional and depends on individual taste preferences. Adjust the sweetness to your liking, starting with a smaller amount and adding more if needed. The natural sweetness from the peaches may be sufficient for some, making it a versatile recipe that caters to various taste preferences.
Can I use a different type of tea bag for this recipe, or is black tea recommended?
While black tea is a popular choice for peach iced tea, you can experiment with different tea varieties to suit your taste. Green tea or a blend of black and green tea can add a unique twist to the flavor profile. Feel free to explore various tea options to discover the combination that delights your palate.
How do I store leftover Instant Pot peach iced tea, and how long does it stay fresh?
Store the leftover tea in a pitcher in the refrigerator for up to a week. It’s best consumed within 2-3 days for optimal freshness and flavor. Avoid leaving it at room temperature for an extended period to ensure food safety.
